Have Fun Raising Your Hermit Crab
Both of my kids had Hermit Crabs and they loved watching them climb on their clothes, furniture and other terrains. They are very low maintenance but do help teach your children about responsibility. There are about five hundred known species in the world, most are aquatic and live in saltwater. These live in saltwater at depths ranging from shallow coral reefs and shorelines to deep sea bottoms. But in the tropics, a number of species are terrestrial. Some of these are very large. The ones that live in the wild, live in colonies of 100 or more and do not thrive in small numbers. They make fascinating little pets, but you have to take proper care of them. They require a larger shell as they grows. So, as it does grow, it needs a supply of different sizes of shells in it's terrarium to choose the proper home. It will go from shell to shell to find the correct fit for it body at that particular time. This is what we experienced with all of our pet Crabs.
